Ellie is a passionate advocate of audio as a powerful medium for communication. She has worked on a range of audio pieces, from short news stories and live radio broadcasts to longer podcasts, as well as creative soundscapes and rhythmic art pieces, all with a scientific theme.
Most recently, she created the soundscape for the opening exhibition of the new Francis Crick Institute in London, utilising laboratory sounds and scientific questions to generate an atmosphere of curiosity and scientific research - creating a sense of the ethos of the new building. She has also worked with the Institute to edit their regular 'CrickChats' into an online publicly available podcast. A second commission saw her creating a further series of interviews for another exhibition, 'Deconstructing Patterns', at the Crick.

Ellie was also commissioned by Endometriosis UK to create an audio piece for Endometriosis Awareness - this is a controversial and difficult piece to listen to, to reflect the difficulty we have in society in talking about, and understanding, the condition.
In addition, Ellie is a producer and contributor for several episodes of Imperial College Radio’s weekly science show ‘Science@One’ where she discusses her favourite science morsels from the week, and she has performed several Spoken Word Poetry pieces on live radio shows across the UK.
As a Multimedia Editor for Nature, Ellie has also produced, written for, and presented several episodes of the award-winning and much-loved Nature Podcast, including recording and editing news packages on latest stories in the scientific world.

Most recently, she has been recording coastal soundscapes from 4,500 miles of UK shorelines for an artistic sound piece with The Plastic Tide, an organisation aiming to raise awareness of plastic pollution on British beaches.
Finally, Ellie wholeheartedly supports widening access to literature, film and tv through audio describing for the Visually Impaired. As such, she is a member of the Audio Describers Association and is happy to discuss commissions for recording audiobooks, walking tours, museum and event description including theatre, comedy and ballet performance.
